Classified Employee Summer Assistance Program

We’re happy to announce that the Newcastle Elementary School District (NESD) will continue to participate in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) for the 2026-2027 school year! Started in NESD in the 2025-26 school year, this program offers up to a dollar-for-dollar match from the state on the amount you choose to have withheld from your paychecks, which means you could boost your savings significantly with minimal effort!

How it works:

  • For every dollar you withhold from your paycheck during the school year, the state will match it—up to a full dollar-for-dollar match. You cannot change the dollar amount after the school year begins.

  • Eligibility: To participate, you must:

    • Be employed with NESD for at least one year.

    • Be a classified employee working 11 months or fewer out of the year.

    • Have a regular annual pay of $62,400 or less.

This is an incredible opportunity to save for the summer! We'll provide more details on how to sign up in January when we return from Winter Break.

  • You can choose to have up to 10% of your monthly paycheck withheld.

  • The CDE will announce the final amount of matching funds by June 1, 2027.

  • The matching funds will be distributed during the summer of 2027.
